Does anyone know of any hosts that allow me to admin an LDAP container
housing user account information for my site? I would prefer Active
Directory since I am most familiar with it. What I would like is to be
able to use MMC to connect to a container and add website users,
passwords, et cetera, and provide access to various pages/functions
based on group policy. Is this even possible? Or is there an easier way
to accomplish what I want?

Also, the website in question is backed by a postgreSQL database.

Shared host? no way. Self managed: Dedicated or VPS is what you'd need.

possibly - no, probably, depending on what you really want.

and why not?

Wouldn't be right - I'm in the trade - dedicated not VPS.

I think Jerry may be able to assist.

I'll gladly help you spec up a server and put you in contact with my
hardware supplier - however, the other point of note is that there are MS
licensing issues with using Windows authentication. I have done it that
way and it is a tidy solution, but you do need to be sure the site/budget
can handle it.

How far from London are you? FWIW: My furthest (dedicated server) client
is around 3500 miles away - was 200m until very recently.

I sometimes think my boss is on another planet. I don't know how that
would affect your figures though Wink

That's simple: when the boss is that far away, workers tend to not
work as much, so their figures are expanding - too much food, too
little movement.

I'm using PowerVPS for Windows VPS's - but they don't have Active
Directory available (never needed it, myself, so I never worried about it).

I don't know any VPS with Active Directory available. You may have to
go dedicated/colo. And William's comments about licensing issues are
important. It will cost you a fair amount.

Sounds about right! Although you've forgotten to factor in eardrum

I've never seen eardrum damage have any effect on figures though Smile

How about when someone asks you if you want some cake, but you don't
hear them, so go without and thus start getting thinner due to all those
occasions when you would have eaten cake passing you by? <g>

What about those occasions when a co-worker has a bag of sweets on
their desk and you didn't hear them saying you couldn't have any? Wink
