web search strangeness

Running NT4 with IIS4.0

We have a search page built but wildcard searches are returning strange
results.

For example search for info* returns 3 hits while a search for information
returns 89 hits?! Any idea why this would be happening?

Start with telling us what search technology you're using. And if
Index Server, try the Index Server group for better help.
