I have Apache 2.0.48 (Win32) XP and I would like to know how to test the
virtual host on my PC.

What I am trying to do is setup Apache as a virtual host only so that I can
run and development Perl CGI code.

Thanks,

Jerry

Add your domain name to your C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc\hosts file

Then I suggest you to start reading the documentation on httpd.apache.org
and maybe some documents about networking and how the internet works.
