Hi there,
After a server rebuild I got all my sites setup in IIS on my local
network, but not connected to the internet. As I was setting them up, I
was testing them. Each worked fine. I have since installed IIS Lockdown
and URLScan, and have assigned each websites its host headers. Now the
default website which doesnt use host headers isnt using the default
document, it just 404's. I have stopped this one, and tried another of
my sites, and that too does a 404.
I dont want to put this server back online when its like this, or will
it be ok once its serving using host headers? Is it something to do
with the IIS Lockdown tool or the URLScan?
Any ideas would be great.
Cheers,
Steve >> Stay informed about: IIS not serving default documents |

404 is fine not found. There is a possibility that your new site does not
have the default document set up that you are using at a default. Did you try
going to a page i.e. http//URL/filename.htm?
IISLockdown and URL scan can also be the problem. Remove then and then try
it again.

I meant "file" not found and not "fine" not found..
