Post subject: redirect from XP webserver to another Linux webserver on the network?
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

i have a windows computer connected to the internet - DSL. i have a
static IP address too.
on another computer, Linux, i have my website.

i want to redirect from my XP web server to my Linux web server. is
this posibble if i turn the ISS service on my XP off. someone mentioned
i can redirect with a firewall, could anyone explain this.

or a third party solution? any help welcome...

the computer dialing up to the internet is a Windows XP, that's what it
have to do with it.

Simply port forward port 80 from your router to your Linux box. Why does
Windows XP have anything to do with it?

So this has nothing to do with IIS - you should ask on a Windows XP
networking forum. I do not know if Windows XP ICS (internet connection
sharing) allows port forwarding. If it does, then you can configure this. If
it doesn't you will need to use some other reverse proxy software (e.g.
Squid)
