I'm looking for a web hosting company to recommend to someone
that needs a small, simple "turnkey" shopping cart where he
needs only to maintain the products and their prices.

The web site is done and just a few pages, so not much is
needed there.

Do companies do this, meaning, give you sample links to add
to your web pages to access the cart, and a way to get into
the cart for maintenance, and take care of everything else?

I suppose you heard about osCommerce and ZenCart?

One possibility you could look at is PayPal's 'shopping cart' - you just
put the item info into a form, and it gives you the code to insert into
your page.

As was already mentioned, you could look into OSCommerce, ZenCart, or
one of the dozens of OS shopping cart systems that are available.
Depends on how much programming work you want to do.

There are a variety of pay services available as well - easy enough to
find by googling "shopping cart"

Or, if it can wait a little while, you can look into something I'm
working on: http://www.easywebmart.com - which will be going into
first-phase live testing in a few weeks - IF your client is willing to
deal with an early stage startup Smile
