Post subject: problem with installing Frontpage 03 extensions
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

I've got a company I did a web site for and they're insisting on running
their own web server, but know little to nothign about web server
configuration. They went into IIS 6.0 and told it to install FP extensions
which it did. FP forms still wouldn't process. I logged in to their server
and went into IIS administration and told it to extend the extensions for the
virtual domain but it still won't process the FP forms. Is there somewhere
else I need to go to get this going?

Thanks!
Buster

1) Are they trying to email the forms? If so, the forms to email transport
must be enabled and set up.
2) Are they http publishing to the server? They cannot use FTP.

BTW, there are no FP 2003 extensions. The latest and last are 2002.

| Also, I assumed the since the server was Windows XP 2003 that the
extesions
| were 2003 as well. So, the extensions are whatever comes with XP2003
server.
|
| Thanks again.

How to configure the FrontPage Server Extensions for Email Transport:
http://www.spiderwebwoman.com/tutorials/email_stuff.htm

They can *not* use FTP, it will corrupt the extensions. They must http
publish in order for the forms to work.

Make sure they have the proper authoring permissions, then they open their
web in FP, and go to File | Publish Site and enter the full URL:
http://www.domainname.com

| OK, the form I setup for them was a simple Frontpage form that sends
results
| to an email address. I know there are spam issues with this so let's don't
go
| there.
|
| Anyway, how do I enable "forms to email" transport?
|
| Also, it would be nice for them to be able to publish with FP rather than
| having to FTP all files up. how do i enable that. All we've done so far
was
| activate the virtual domain that was created.
|
| Thanks Tom!
