| Hello,
I'm learning IIS and web development, and I have run into a problem, again.
I have web pages running just fine, and they seem happy. So, I got to the chapter in the book
about using Microsoft ACT for load testing, and decided that was a good idea. I fired up ACT, and set
up to record a new test, but when I tried to access the web page, it gave me a 401 error. It said my
browser was sending some sort of authentication information that couldn't be interpreted. (I know, I
know, I'm supposed to write down exact error messages. Shame on me.)
I tried with and without anonymous access enabled, and I allowed "everyone" full access to the
web sites, but no luck. 401 every time. I also tried messing with configuration information in the
web.config file, setting allow="*", and that sort of thing. The web sites are accessible either from
within Visual Studio, using Start->Debug, or just by accessing the browser. I'm guessing that I just
have to hit some sort of magic button within the IIS configuration setting that lets in the
appropriate user for ACT, but I don't know which magic button it is.
Thanks for any assistance anyone can give.
