what must be changed in the configuration of the iis in order to allow
cgi perl script access to unc paths?

Nothing. That's a Windows permissions issue, not an IIS one. The
script needs permission to the target folder/share for the user
account invoking the script.

Andreas,

The credentials that the script runs under need sufficient or
appropriate permissions to access the UNC share.
