hi gang

my boss has asked me to look into which ecommerce package we should consider
using. this is a new area for us, so i'm feeling lost. we're primarily asp
developers, have lots of ms access and ms sql experience. we're looking for
something that has sales tax calculations, non-session based shopping cart,
delivery fee calculations, multiple currencies support, store management
features. is there anything else we should be looking for?

what are the standard fees associated with ecommerce aside from the purchase
of the package?

there seem to be tons of free and license based options on the web - too
many to make a clear choice. i'd appreciate it if anybody has a sense of
what the more popular packages and why. anybody have a strong pref for one
package over another and why?

what would you guys recommend?

tks

The Kurant StoreSense solution is very easy to setup yet is full of
features. The pricing is reasonable and it has won several awards. Check
it out on their web site at <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.kurant.com." target="_blank">www.kurant.com.</a> You can even review and modify
their demo store before making any decisions. They have programs setup to
be a partner or to just purchase a single store. It is definitely worth a
look.

2Checkout are good, been using them for almost 2 years with only 1
complaint (I'm banned from the support forum... but that was my fault
according to them)

$49 setup fee then it's 5.5% + $0.45 per sale
there are no monthly or annual fees and you can use almost any shopping
cart script
you can also charge in the following currencies...
Australian Dollars
Canadian Dollars
Danish Kroner
Euros
GB Pounds
Hong Kong Dollars
Japanese Yen
New Zealand Dollars
Norwegian Crona
Swedish Kronor
Swiss Franks
US Dollars

there are 2 forms of pass through back to your site, both pass
parameters through, and you can customise the payment routine pages to
look like your site so the customer never knows they left.

www.2checkout.com

if you sign up tell them "ellio" recommended you and I should be allowed
back in the forum (c;
