Stinks but my ISP blocks incoming port 80 so i've opened up port 427.
Unfortunately, some of my users cannot get to my website through 427. I've
heard that port 8080 is good to use, too. In your opinion, which port would
be the best for allowing users to get to my website? TIA.

What I did was use port 8080. I also setup to forward on the DNS server
where I had my account. That way users could still type in my URL with out
adding the port number, and from the DNS server it forwarded to my server on
port 8080.
Thats back when I had Verizon DSL. Then I went with a good company
Covad. I get 5 static IP's and no interference. The 75.00 a month is well
worth it.

Gino, you have me very interested! My current ISP is Verizon, and i DO want
my users to type my web address w/out the port number! How exactly do i
"forward on the DNS server"? I'm running Win2K Server. TIA for your time
and support.

I use a company <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.zoneedit.com" target="_blank">www.zoneedit.com</a> for DNS. I have used them for years, they
are very good. If you setup with them you get a user account and can setup
DNS for your website and make config changes any time you want. You can also
set up an MX record if you wanted to have your own Exchange Server. Anyway
you can configure Web forwarding right there, it is very easy.
