dear iis gurus
can you please explain me the difference between a host-header and a virtual
directory. in my opinon both of them can be used to reach a website with
different url.

a) a virtual directory allows you to add a folder underneath an existing
website, eg
http://www.yourServer.com/someFolder
(someFolder can be a folder not located physically underneath the root
folder for the website - you can add it by making it a "virtual directory"

b) a host-header is used in conjuction with an IP address + TCP port to
enable you to run mulitple websites on a single IP address (on the same
port)
