Post subject: (newbie) creating product db
Archived from groups: alt>ecommerce (more info?)

Hello,
I am involved in building a site to sell single items of jewelry.
We've constructed a little product db where an administrator can
upload names, descriptions, pictures and prices of the items.
However, when we choose an ecommerce vendor, will the admin have to
enter all the product/price info a second time into the payment
processor's site to alert them that these are the items to be sold?

What are people's experiences with this, or am I confused altogether?

Thanks, - Dave

Howdy,

With most of the shopping carts, you'll have to start over again or be very
good at manually rebuilding your data base.

I have a conversion utility that lets me reformat almost any data base to
BIZyCart's format. I'm an expert at doing it manually as well. Drop me a
note if you'd like to be using a real Ecommerce Server.

depends on the database you are using. With mySQL you should be able
to backup your data on the old site and restore it on the new site
without problems.
