I say chaps, let's not be quite so harsh. Ay?
To the questioner:
If you use Namo Webeditor it will estimate the download times for a
page at various speeds between 9600 bps and 256K bps.
Alternatively, you can try connecting with a modem and limit it's
connection speed, and see how your pages load. Again this will only be
an estimate, as you can never be sure what will happen along the
chainwhat with ISP caches and network bottlenecks.

I don't know what you think about <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.webpageanalyzer.com/" target="_blank">http://www.webpageanalyzer.com/</a>

Never heard of it. So I don't think anything of it!
Seriously, I don't place my credence in these sort of tools. Bottom
line is small pages load faster, faster loading pages are more
agreeable to readers.
My own gut feeling, and this will no doubt be countered, is to try and
keep HTML pages below about 25 knytes. And before anyone says it, we
are splitting down the pages in the encyclopaedia, but it takes a long
time.

I agree. But when it comes to download time for a page (including images
and other stuff on it), it can't be worse than anything else. As you
say, it can only be an estimate.
Can you estimate the size and download time for your pages, with the ads
included?

I have now tried webpageanalyzer.com, and I must say it's not bad.
Okay, it's a bit "buy our services" orientated, but a useful tool - I
bookmarked it.
With Namo Webeditor it does count all included adverts, but of course
they are dynamic and come from a separate server, so I tend to look at
the commerical versions of the pages, which are advert free (and
available to buy....<G>)

Only if you damage the cable when positioning the frame - and be careful
what type of sealant you use, some varieties may react with the cable
casing. Also, alcohol-based window cleaners (the solutions such as
Windolene or the inebriated people that climb ladders) may react to the
cable casing too.
