Post subject: mac problems
Archived from groups: alt>www>webmaster (more info?)

Hello - I have created a site using using Macromedia Fireworks drop-down
menus. My client uses a mac and has complained that the drop-down menus
either
appear half way down the screen or not at all. Would any mac users out
there mind taking a look and letting me know what they see?

I am a PC user (XP Pro, IE versions 4 and above, NN 3 and above) and
everything's fine as far as I can see.

Please note that I have uploaded only the files required to see the problem
so none of the links will work. The sample is at
http://www.indigowebdesign.co.uk/sea

The home, contacts and links buttons don't have drop-downs assigned.

Any help is gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

Jo

Youch.... that page is about 10x bigger than it has to be (in download).
It is TOTALLY bloated with code and silly spacer images!

Hm anyway. I dont have access to my Mac from here, but I tried in IE6,
Opera and FireFox and it seemed okay.

The menus appear fine in both IE 5.1.7 and Mozilla on the Mac.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Correction my earlier response.

The menus work fine in Mozilla but in IE, while the drop-downs do
appear, when you move the mouse over the submenu, the submenus jump down
the page 140px or so.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Any ideas as to why this might be?

Thanks for all your responses. Much appreciated.

Although fairly sound advice, it doesn't really solve the problem of the
menu being incompatible with the Mac version of IE.

Oo and we've got another Heidi to play with Very Happy
