We have a new login.aspx page that pops up the standard login dialog box to
the user. When the user enters their username and password and clicks ok,
the dialog box just returns but with the fqdn of the iis server prepended to
the username (server.domain.com\smith_j) and becaus the user account is
defined only in the domain and not the local iis server, this format will
fail. If i remove the server (domain.com\smith_j) the login is successfull.
The website properties are configured with integrated auth only and the
domain is set to our domain (although it's greyed out). Any ideas how to
get the login to default to the domain and not the local server?
thanks,
jim
server is win2003

Hello Jims,

It's important to understand that you are not using Integrated Auth even
though it's selected. This auth type doesn't work over the internet which
is why you're being prompted for a username in the first place. You should
stop using Integrated Auth and start using Basic with a required SSL
connection to protect yourself from hackers.

Once Basic is enabled, you'll have the ability to set the default domain.

Please let us know if this helps.
