Post subject: IIS locks up on ASP pages that use FileSystemObject

I have been having a problem with IIS that causes the browser to hang
whenever I try to view a page that uses the FileSystemObject of VBScript. I
can view any page that does not use FileSystemObject with no problem at all
(I can even view pages that use SSI). I am not an expert in server setup,
but I am assuming this means that some file has been deleted from my
computer that is necessary to use the FileSystemObject, but since I don't
know what file it would be or where on my computer it would be located, I
cannot fix it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have Norton Antivirus installed on the server machine? If so, disable
the "Script Blocking" feature, and restart the NAV services (or just
reboot). Other AV programs also have similar features. Basically they block
certain functions of the FSO since a number of viruses utilise the FSO.

My hunch is that permissions on your server are preventing the IUSR from=
getting to the FileSystemObject components.
