Archived from groups: alt>apache>configuration (more info?)

Hello,
I have loaded Apache 2.0 on XP. Configuration files look ok but when I go to
http://localhost, the page is not found. Again, I have checked all of the
entries in HTTP.conf and everything looks OK. Could it be browser settings ?

Thank you for your replies....

if you open a command prompt and type 'ping localhost', does he
found himself or not? if no, you should probably tell him that
he is 'localhost'.

Are you behind a firewall??

If so check to see if port 80 is open and pointing to the proper
machine IP.
