There is no IIS for WinXP Home edition. You can download VS 2005 Visual Web
Developer it comes with light weight web server. Have a try.

That's because Home Edition does not support IIS.

Oh yes... and Pro version only allows 10 "Connections" depending on your
configuration. If you are wanting to run IIS, go to Ebay and put a bid in
on Windows 2000 Server, there are always some for sale.

Harry,

You can't install IIS on XP Home.

INFO: Personal Web Server Is Not Included with Windows XP Home Edition

You would need to use either Cassini or Web Matrix

Hi,

I own a XP Home machine and have decided to upgrade to the XP Pro version
for the sole purpose of being able to develop ASP.NET applications, via the
IIS server.

Could someone clarify from personal experience etc. whether simply upgrading
my system (after ensuring that I am upgrading a SP1 Home with a SP1 Pro) I
will be able to get the required features.

Thanks,
Lipika
