Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

I am experiencing this message when I attempt to contact
a search engine such as google, altavista etc. I can
contact all of my favorite sites with no problem. I can
enter a search argument on my home site (sympatico) and
it works, but when I click on www.google I getthis
message. I can use Yahoo and use any of there group
searches but when I enter a search argument I get http
404 error or server not found dns error. Anyone got an
idea. Thanks Lee

You probably got some virus (I forget what it's called) that messes with
your hosts file. This is not an IIS issue. For a quick fix, enter this at
the command prompt:

echo 127.0.0.1>%windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
ipconfig /flushdns

Also install AV software and scan.
