Is there any harm in just deleting old web folders right from under wwwroot?

I have a number of old webs in passing areas of interest and, well, those
interests have passed. I have already zipped up and archived the web
folders on my FrontPage machine. So, I'd like to just delete the folders
associated with these old sites from the server. Any problems there?

If it's no longer needed, and you have backup. by all mean - remove it.
