These numbers represent the number of hits google adwords sent me over the
last 8 days, and today.
Ugh. Now what? I won't receive any hits for 2 more days? Obviously they've
stupidly overbilled me, and just before the weekend. That really pisses me
off. If they do this again I'll pause my campaign all week except for the
weekends. Lets see them try to pull THAT stunt again!

That would be good management of your campaign by the sound of it.

Can't see the problem - you asked for hits, you got hits.

The problem is quality of hits. Weekend hits are obviously more important
than weekday hits. Hits from 6pm to midnight are more important than hits
when everyone in the US is at work, especially if you are targeting the US.
And it seems that Google keeps forkig off the unimportant, crappy hits to
people who are only paying by the click, instead of one of those
special-service $5000+ ad campaigns where they throw in a free bootlick
while they're at it.

Obvious to you maybe but not to me and certainly not to google.

welcome to the WWW
have you considered modifying your ad so that it only appeals to citzens of
your chosen market?
e.g "Rhode Island Romance" as as opposed to "Bulgarian Bondage"

Never had a problem with them. You can't hold Google responsible for
people's surfing habits.

Perhaps you should be advertising with me, then. The majority of
readers (80%+) are from the USA, and appear to be
school/college/university connected.
You'll pay one fee, in advance, for an agreed period of time, not by
the impression or click.
