| I've somehow managed to swap the positions of the Quick Launch (the
bit originally on the left of the Task bar) and the running programs
(the bit originally in the middle of the Task bar, not the
Active/Inactive icons area). I've clicked this mouse till it's
squeeeek-less but can't get them back to their original places. Can
someone help, please?

Right click, unlock the task bar. Then drag/drop the vertical dotted lines.

Not me, but I *am* kinda waiting to see what this has to do with IE.

You're absolutely right. I rehashed the text but forgot to do the
title - it all happened after installing the latest download of IE
but, on reflection, I remember discovering that this hides the Quick
Launch by default and the hiccup occurred while farffing around,
re-setting the values to my preferences. >> Stay informed about: Any experts on IE's controls around here? |

Nahhh, I've tried all that, turned off Quick Launch, back on again,
nothing seems to work. Anything further you can think of? >> Stay informed about: Any experts on IE's controls around here? |

Sorry, I can't reproduce this on Windows XP Pro (you didn't say what OS
you're running). I also can't find any articles on Microsoft's site (KB
and MSDN articles) or elsewhere on the WWW that include a resolution or
even a hint that it can happen. You're the only one.
I suggest you retitle the post from "IE" to the Windows version you're
using, then post to a MS NG like microsoft.public,
microsoft.public.win2000.general, or microsoft.public.windowsxp.general,
etc., as applicable.

I can hardly believe this.
I'm not exactly a Windows virgin (since 1995, computers since 1986)
and I've been right-clicking and-dragging-and-dropping like a good 'un
but (as far as I can remember) it was always dragging the leftest (at
the time, running programs) area towards the middle (at the time,
Quick launch icons). This last time, I clicked to drag-and-drop the
middle area towards the leftest area, and it woiked. It woiked, it
woiked! Go figger.
Ah, computers... who needs 'em? >> Stay informed about: Any experts on IE's controls around here? |
