I am trying to access a virtual directory on another computer (as UNC)
within IIS 6.0. I am receiving an error 500 whenever I try to browse
to any particular file under the vdir (via http). Yet from the IIS
MMC, I can drill down into the same virtual directory and see all the
files. This would mean to me the security credentials should be
working ok (otherwise, I wouldn't access the file list from IIS). I
don't see any failed audits from the file server so I don't get it. I
know the username/password is correct because I can map a drive to the
same UNC and be able to echo the files. What could be causing this?
Thank you in advance,

I was able to figure out it is 500.16-UNC Authorization Credentials
Are Incorrect, which is wierd because I would expect to see failed
audit trail on the file server if that is the case. Also, I've tried
machinename\username just the same.
