Need details about credit card processing

Hi,

I am planning to implement a merchant account system for my website
inorder to help credit card processing.

Please do let me know the following:


1. I need to implement the service just like paypal or yahoo or
citibank.I should be able to offer services to smaller merchants by
being able to support merchant account hanlding. How do I do that?

2. What language should I use to implement this?? What all details
would be needed?

3. Pls do send me reference links or material on implementing this.

Howdy Sukesh,

You are quite welcome to have a Merchant Account to process card
transactions for your company's products or services. Visa and Master Card
will not allow you to process cards for other companies unless you are owned
by a big bank the way PayPal and Yahoo are.

There's not much point worrying about this until you have a bank worth
millions of dollars backing you. I've got the software to handle it, some
clients that would like to use it, but I don't have the bank connections.
