Hello,

I was wondering what do you look for when you look for a hosting
provider?

And further more what could we do as a company to help you webmasters!

Regards

For myself:
- A company that has been around a few years.
- Good reports (or at least no bad ones) on webhostingtalk.com
- A company that doesn't have script errors on their homepage.
- A company that doesn't use tables for layout on their homepage.
- Gives me a few gigs of space.
- Phone, email and on-line (chat) support, although if I have to use it then
I've probably made a mistake choosing the host.
- Windows or Linux hosting depending on what I'm going to use the system
for. So far for Linux hosting I've always been satisfied with a shared
server, but my two windows hosting plans are both dedicated servers.
- A competitive price (but not necessarily the cheapest).

Excellent question. Can't think of anything at the moment, but there must be
lots. Hopefully others will chip in.

Learning that this group is not an advertising platform for starters. Use
a sig if you want to promote your services and help others. Personally I
don't like it much when people use the From field.

You scanned the archives for suitable material before asking?

You could suggest a price to sell out - I'll look at any serious proposal
from dev/reseller up.

For me it's a trade-off between cheap and reliable. I really want both
and I need to see a track record that proves the reliable part.

I want the host to email me when the servers go down for any reason,
preferably ahead of time. I don't need any hand-holding, but when my
sites go down unexpectedly I want answers I can count on.
