I have visual studio and i cant make an ASP.NET application
but it wont work because i dont have an IIS , i Have
windows XP "IM told that it is suposse to come with the
software , I have allso been told to go to the control
panel and click on add/remove programs then click on
add/remove window components and find IIS there ,and click
on install.

"WELL BELIVE ME IT IS NOT THERE " I have looked about 20
time's now , I have the home version of XP ,

1. how come I dont have IIS at add/remove windows
components ?

2. How do i get it there ?

3.How come no books (or websites)tell what to do if its
not at the add/remove windows components?

4. should i allready have it how do i get it back ?
(i have been trying to get this info for 12 hours now
its 2:34 am)

5. do i have to buy it ,where do i get it at?

Please help im driving my self crazy trying to
make a simple ASP.NET application

Unfortunatly you are correct. IIS is not in Add/Remove Components on
Windows XP *Home*.

In order to install IIS on Windows XP you must have Windows XP *Pro*.

I missed the earlier posts, but this has a resolution. It explains that
Windows XP Home Edition does not include IIS. Which edition of Windows XP do
you have, and which Service Pack?
