Hi,

My name is Robert Laibach. I recently have gone deaf. The internet
does not care about that in anyway, shape, or form. This is a
wonderful thing for me.

I would just like to get by. Sound familiar. I'm sure it does!

With this in mind I am trying to start an online gift shop. I am below
the suggested retail pricing. I do not intend on getting rich by doing
this type of work, but I would like to get by. The store address is
http://www.laibachgifts.com/

If nothing else, please leave me feedback as to how I am doing and how
I can improve. I am certainly not perfect. Comments from others as to
what they liked and disliked is a great tool.

Thank you all, in advance, for your help in this matter

Sincerely,
Robert Laibach

Pictures are huge files. Dial-up users will now way tolerate that size of
file.

Your logo is pixelated and amateur looking.

your HTML is poor Frontpage output. You can get more info by posting to
alt.html.critique.

Your gifts look tacky and cheap.

Hope this helps,

Hi Robert
I am a senior counselor for SCORE - - I hear from tons of folks
that want to get into business. I have an interest in some 'E'
commerce myself - - Hoewever, I don't have a hula hoop!
I have attended seminars that offer up help in web design and
linking. Bottom line - - To look professional and get traffic it is
not an ameteurs game any longer - - The marketplace is very
sophisticated in that respect - - You will spend money and ongoing
expense to 'look good'.

Good luck<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

This is merely first inspection:

You are changing your keywords on EVERY page, bravo.
but you have the same failing title everywhere, change the titles on every
page also and you will see a difference in your relevancy and search engine
standing.

(Oh you will have to resubmit your site to some of the search engines...(be
carefully, do not resubmit if you have not read their policy))

I think I recommended this a couple of times...there are a couple of other
good ones...but none more functional. <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.oscommerce.org/" target="_blank">http://www.oscommerce.org/</a>

Another thing, you might think of strategic partners...first identify what
the strategic partner will bring you and what you will bring them...then
make certain your (at least 3) strategic partners fit the mold.

Good Luck,
let me know if I have been helpful if you would.

I agree with the person that talked about how a professional look and
feel costs money unless you are actually a professional Web
design/developer. I would recommend that your Web site be redesigned
by someone that has some experience. It's not as expensive as one
might think.

Your Web site could be designed for easier use (e.g. a right
navigation bar is not an end-all solution dispite the fact that
Amazon.com and other sites use it). It also could use a visual
facelift, as others have mentioned. Unfortunately or not, a
professional-looking Web site would most likely drive sales higher.

Regards,
Walter
