Post subject: "You are not authorized to view this page" ???
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

Hi,

I'm running a small home network, upon which I host several websites.
Currently, my server is NT 4.0/SP6 & IIS. I have three sites that are
working perfectly. I just added a forth, and as far as I can see, it's
configured the same as the other 3 (which are working fine, btw), but when I
try to get to it, I receive a 'You are not authorized to view this page"
message. I know that i'm getting in, because initially (before I set up the
new site) I was getting my default site when I went to that URL. (I
disabled the default site temporarily while I'm trying to get the new one to
work. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Joe

Filemon will help you see what's happening at the filesystem level in terms
of access success and failures. Good for identifying access problems:

<a rel="nofollow" style='text-decoration: none;' href="http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/filemon.shtml" target="_blank">http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/filemon.shtml</a>

You might also want to use Security Configuration Manager to set
success/failure auditing to see if events are being denied for any
permissions-related reasons. With failure auditing enabled, any failures
should appear in the security event log.
