Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

I am having a problem with a virtual directory which resides on a
server under a different domain.

I have set up the virtual directory so that IIS does not control the
password for anon access.

The folder contains jpgs and when the site is viewed locally these can
be seen, but when viewed externally from the network the jps cannot be
seen. All the URL's are relative so I cannot understand why this is
happening.

Please can anyone shed some light on this.

Cheers
Neil

We need to understand what "cannot be seen" means in order to begin helping
you. Is there an error message? What happens?

Hi,

No error messages. Certain pages contain jpg's - all referenced from
asp/sql. When viewing the site on the internal network, these work fine
but when viewing externally i.e www.... the jpg's are shown as missing
i.e. outline of jpg with red X in top left corner.

As stated before URL's are relative.

Thanks in advance
Neil

Just an update which may help someone to help me.

I've jsut discovered that when accessing the site via
http://IP/Foldername the pictures can be seen in the virtual directory
however via www.sitename.net which is a virtual site pointing to
IP/Foldername does not work.

Cheers
Neil

Check your HTML code then to make sure the paths to the images are correct.
