Virtual Directory not listed under IIS Manager

I have a .net web application running from a virtual directory with
frontpage extensions enabled.

I can browse to the site and publish to it from VS.NET.

But the virtual directory does not show up under the web site in IIS
manager. It has disappeared.

It is running on windows 2003 enterprise edition, IIS 6.0

I have never seen this happen before on win 2k

microsoft.public.frontpage.extensions.windowsnt
