Post subject: Trouble setting up my IIS server in XP Pro
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

Here are some screenshots of my settings. I do not know why it will not work. Works internally, but noboyd can seem to get in from the other end. I have DMZ opened and no luck, the correct forwarding and no luck. Several ports tried and still no go. It has to be something I setup wrong within IIS.

Please help Sad

i have the same router, you should also configure the
Virtual Server section so as to redirect to the server, it
is not necesary to have a DMZ
Configure the V Server to redirect any trafic from public
port 8000 to local server and private port...
and then make sure the firewall has set it up automatically
and it should be working fine

You configured IIS for your public IP but your computer doesn't have a
public IP, it has an address of 192.168.0.100 (at least that's where you
are forwarding your port 8000 to).

You should have left the IP Address alone in the IIS settings.

One other thing - since you appear to have never managed an IIS site,
make sure that your machine fully patched, and that you've followed ALL
of the lockdown instructions or you machine will be compromised in a
short amount of time.

One last thing - your ISP may cancel your account if they find you
running a web server with public access permitted.

He has the port forwarding going to 192.168.0.100 and his IIS web site
coded for his public IP - it won't respond to his public IP because he's
on 192.168.0.100.

Look at the screen shots - he needs to put 192.168.0.100 in the Web Site
IP Address under IIS.
