Archived from groups: biz>ecommerce (more info?)

I'm about to publish my first book, and I plan to do direct sales
from my web site. However, I need to be able to accept credit card
orders from my web site. That's where the problem comes in.

Pay-Pal is the most affordable service I've found, but their shopping
cart is clunky, and they can be problematic in the extreme. I've
spoken to other published authors who were badly burned by Pay-Pal
(some had to hire attorneys just to get the money they were rightfully
entitled to).

Are there any good alternatives to Pay-Pal? Their price is certainly
right, and their service is easy to use. The e-commerce solutions
I've found thus far were not viable alternatives. They were far too
expensive, and not very user-friendly.

Again, if anyone could suggest some good alternatives to Pay-Pal, I'd
appreciate it.
