Post subject: Schedule a iisreset task
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

Hi,

I created a schedule task to run iisreset, it ran at the schedule time but
there was an error showed in the event log: "7031 IIS Admin Service
Terminated Unexpectedly...". This error appears right before the IISCTLS
events.

It seem that iisadmin was not responed to the iisreset command and got
"killed". Other than the error, iisreset did restart all iis services.

However, if I run iisreset from the server command prompt, there is no error
at all.

Is it normal to have the error when running iisreset from schedule task?

Thanks

Ron

Ron,

Is the task running in the context of an account with full admin
rights to the IIS machine ?

Paul,

Thanks for the KB, I think my schedule task is setup correctly. I use
Administrator as the user for the task.

As I mentioned, the issreset did run and it restarted all iis services
sucessfully. Just that 7031 error "bug" me as there is no error if I run it
manually.

I am just wonder if this 7031 error is normal when iisreset is run in
Schedule Task?
Thanks
