I'm setting up Mambo (CMS), and I've never used ssl or Apache 2.x
until now. I admit I've taken the lazy route by patching together
rpm's rather than compiling, but perhaps someone will have the
solution off their cuff. If anyone can point me to a set of scripts
that can test an Apache installation -- much like version.php or
horde's test.php describes the environment -- that would super.
From ssl_error_log:
[Tue...2003] [warn] RSA server certificate is a CA certificate
(BasicConstraints: CA == TRUE !?)
[Tue...2003] [warn] RSA server certificate CommonName (CN)
`localhost.localdomain' does NOT match server name!?
I can't find where to configure `localhost.localdomain' for ssl (or
the web application?).
I can surf the site (Mambo) I've installed on this httpd server, but
when I log into Mambo as admin, and go to the 'Template manager' page,
the browser finishes with a blank page (both Mozilla & IE). From this
point on, I can no longer surf the site as admin -- but a browser not
logged in can surf the front pages -- and both the earlier admin
browser and this unauthenticated browser both cannot login as admin
(when they do, the browser hangs there and waits for the server, who
never replies).
If I disable ssl by renaming ssl.conf, then the ssl_error_log entries
go away, however in either case, and whether or not I login as admin,
I get these in Apache's error_log upon shutting down httpd:
[Tue...2003] [warn] child process 2892 still did not exit, sending a
SIGTERM
(one for each httpd, then...)
[notice] caught SIGTERM, shutting down...
This seems like a basic Apache setup problem -- tho I don't think ssl
is the direct cause, ssl itself doesn't appear to be setup properly.
Has anybody seen this?
Redhat 9, and these were all RPM's:
httpd-2.0.40-21.3
php-ldap-4.2.2-17.2
php-mysql-4.2.2-17.2
php-4.2.2-17.2
php-imap-4.2.2-17.2
php-mysql-4.2.2-17.2
mysql-server-3.23.54a-11
Thanks,
-Justin

In your httpd.conf file are you setting the ServerName directive?
