Can I use this server to be an SMTP host/gateway? I ask because I am
stress testing against our company exchange server and am slowings
things down for real users. I do not need emails to go anywhere, just
be able to simulate email messages via our web application(complete/in
progress etc)

Thanks for the reply. I have eactually managed to test the
configuration and its working. It all internal and enclosed from the
outside world...but as a precaution I have only allowed authorised
IP's access to the service.
Once again, many thanks. Greg

Sitting on a web server, it uses it's own SMTP system to allow for the
pushing of mail from that server. You can also allow other servers to relay
off that server. Be careful though, especially if it' on extranet on the
outside world.
