Publishiing problem passwords no longer work

running 2000 server suddenly a customer cannot publish to their VS I have
deleted and recreated the VS added the user with advanced author permissions
and the administrator account also.

In frontPage I cannot log into the site with either account and I cannot
publish
The administrators account works on other VS without any problems..

any suggestions?

Hello Rich,

I know this problem.

1) Check the Windows System Folder permissions for
internet visitors permissions, If not there, add the
User. If there then ......
2) Open IIS Manager, Right click on website name, select
tasks and click configure server extensions. If it still
does not work, then ......
3) Close IIS Manager, Open IIS Manager.
4) Select Tasks again and check them. If it still does
not work, then ......
5) Remove them.
6) Close IIS Manager, Open IIS Manager
7) Select Tasks and configure them again.
Everytime you do something using the IIS Manager,
always close it and open it to do the next task. Known
bug.
