You know this update SP6 for Visual Studio 6 is a little confusing. The =
information on:
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/downloads/updates/sp/vs6/sp6/default.as=" target="_blank">http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/downloads/updates/sp/vs6/sp6/default.as=</a>
px
says, "This service pack does not contain fixes for Visual InterDev 6.0, =
Visual FoxPro 6.0, and Visual J++ 6.0, as the mainstream life-cycle for =
these products has ended. This SP replaces SP5 for developers using =
Visual Basic 6.0, Visual C++ 6.0, and Visual SourceSafe 6.0. Developer =
using Visual InterDev 6.0, Visual J++ 6.0, and Visual FoxPro 6.0 should =
continue using SP5"
Now my understanding after reading this is one of two things. First DO =
NOT install SP6 if you are using VI6 VJ++6 or VFP6. OR DO NOT expect =
VI6 VJ++6 VFP6 to be updated by SP6. Now I don't know which is accurate =
here. Whether you can or you cannot install SP6 if we are using VI6 =
VJ++6 or VFP6 but until I know for sure I can only guess that the answer =
is DO NOT install SP6 given that VI6 VJ++6 VFP6 are being used based on =
what you have said.
I believe you can remove VS6 and go back that way.
