Hello,

I have a problem with my IIS 5.1 and the Windows Authentication.

If i try to connect to my web site using the www.sitename.com, i receive the
popup connection box and no username can't connect.

but if i use the localhost or the public adress i have no problem ... ??

The www.sitename.com = Public adress.

I deactivate my firewall, to make sure than not the problem

I don't know if is my IIS setting or my internet explorer setting or maybe
SP2 setting than cause the problem

Spec:
Web Server: XP Pro SP2 : IIS 5.1

Please help me ... thx

Marc

Is the IIS box in a domain? If so, did you enter Domain\Username or
username@upn-suffix as your username?

Cheers
Ken

Hi,

If you are not on a domain, try using Machine\Username.

Also, can you post the IIS logfile entries where you have an unsucessful
attempt to login?

Thanks

Cheers
Ken
