networksolutions do email hosting for $2 / month

cotse.net will do it (I think) for $6 / month, but that includes what are
probably the best security and privacy features I have ever seen in a
webmail account.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Thanks for the info. A couple of years ago NetSol gave me a lot of
trouble when I moved my first domain from them, so I'm leery of giving
them any more business. Cotse might be okay, but their hardline free
speech position enabled a few jokers to wreck a few Usenet groups I
read, so I don't know if I want send any business their way either.
Still, having excellent security/privacy is a good thing, isn't it....<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Thanks for the offer, Eric. I'll ask my sister, but I think she's too
much of a cheapskate for that -- I give her a $13 domain and now she
wants everything else for free too. <groan> Two days after I mentioned
to her that my ISP has webmail and popmail, she started hinting that I
could give her one of the 5 accounts that comes with my internet
service. What a mooch!<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Here is another option - If she has a domain parked somewhere with e-mail
pops attached then she could get a 'free' web mail programme and put it up
on a free site to be able to use web mail to retrieve from her pops. easy
pezy!<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Nope. Gandi.net only does redirects, not pops.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Ok as you want the cheapest option - sign up with
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.freehomepage.com/" target="_blank">http://www.freehomepage.com/</a>
for a free site. It will cost you about $13-$15 for the year = domain name
transfer fee and you get a 30 meg web site where you can install a web mail
programme and pop mail boxes.

there are others out there similar - just do a google.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Thanks. I've done that and the variety of choices is daunting. I posted
here to get recommendations based on experience. Have you used
freehomepage.com?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Why would I do that? I have been a host for many years and have all the
facilities available to me direct. OK, about 25 years I used compuserve for
a while - they were the only game in town.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
