Trying to install IIS on Windows 2000 Pro, in
Add/Remove Windows Components, Windows
Components Wizard, IIS Details shows:
[] Common Files
[] Documentation
[] FTP Server
[] FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions
[] IIS Snap-in
[] Personal Web Manager <=== NOTICE!
[] SMTP Service
[] World Wide Web Server

"Personal Web Manager" appears where I am
told to expect "Internet Services Manager" to
appear. I check it, but IIS does not get installed
properly. The IIS Admin Service is installed, but
not the WWW Server.

Have you also checked the box marked "World Wide Web
Server"? That's the actual WWW service.

Absolutely. Sorry I did not make that clear;
was quite late when I posted my inquiry.

I unchecked all boxes, as per the instructions,
and checked all except ftp and smtp.

Was this OS an upgrade by chance? Personal Web Manager is gone. If this is not an upgrade, is this an OEM cd, or the Microsoft CD.

Thank you. I hope this information is helpful.
