Post subject: OnlineNIC.com Domain Changes - Is Anyone Home???
Archived from groups: alt>www>webmaster (more info?)

I have a new client who's previous web developer had registerd his domain
name through OnlineNIC.com.

I've emailed them several times using different addresses posted on the
contact section of their web site and even tried their online
support form. It's been several days and no response.

Does anyone either know how to contact them so they respond?

Even better, what I need is to know their procedure for changing the email
address for the owner of the domain. The owner didn't handle the actual
purchase and doesn't have any of the passwords they use on OnlineNIC to
make changes.

If anyone has any ideas, feel free to share.

Sincerely,

Duane Hinkley

What happens when the owner logs in on the site to manage the domain?

McWebber,

Unfortunatly, the owner doesn't have the account information to log it.
This was handled by the person that setup his first web site. The account
information to login wasn't passed on to him and he can't contact this guy
that should have the information.

The account is listed in the Owners name though.

The whois for the domain should have some of the info needed. Otherwise I'd
call 1-415-665-7168

Onlinenic sells through resellers.

I am a reseller and have been for a long time. All resellers have direct
contact with their account manager and their response time is excellent -
usually less than 15 minutes - although I did have to wait for 20 minutes
once when there was a region wide ddos attack!

As you say the name was purchased by a developer, (possibly a reseller?), it
is Onlinenics policy to only deal with the reseller and not the end user.
The end user, (domain name owner), is a client of the reseller and needs to
work through their reselller to resolve problems.

Having said that, I would be happy to assist, just let me know.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

The owner cannot log into Onlinenic directly. Only resellers have that
access. BUT, all resellers also have a web based interface connecting their
site with Onlinenics process engine and should provide each client with
access to their own domain manager from their.site.

I am guessing, but it looks like the 'previous' web designer was the one but
is no longer around.. Best option for the OP is to get another Onlinenic
reseller to interceed for them. That would be quicker, and cheaper, than
simply transfering the name.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I'd

That link you posted will be no good to him.
It is for members only, (resellers) not domain name owners!
As for the whois, it only contains the owner info, it does not contain any
reseller info - so again would be of no use!<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
