It's not easy and there are many different options. Somebody once
said that it's like an onion. You just keep peeling back the layers
and discover more.

The basics are:

1. A web site
2. An order processing mechanism (shopping cart/checkout)
3. Payment processing system (validates and transfers funds)
4. An internet merchant account

There are hundreds of different ways to achieve each one, and hundreds
of different people offering to do some or all of the above, e.g.
merchant account and payment processing in one.
