Hello.

I am trying to just import websites only from a iis5 web server (using
metaedit) to an iis6 web server using (metaexplorer since metaedit2.2.
wont work). All I want is the website info.. Ie. export text file only
from metaedit. I want to import that text file into metabase explorer,
but that is no longer an option. Is there a work around for this?
Again, I just want the websites, and none of the metabase stuff..

Thanks,

Can you explain a little bit more on exactly what you want to do?

If you are using metaedit and metabase explorer, then all you are going to
get is the metabase stuff -- because these tools are metabase editors -- but
you're saying that you just want the websites and not the metabase stuff.

So, either you're completely using the wrong tools, or you don't want the
website content. Or ???

I do not want the website content. Just the sites themselves. What's
weird is that IIS 6.0 already shows all the websites that are active in
the farm. Even though this machine has not been put into the webfarm
yet.

Thanks,

Typically on win2k what we did was use metaedit 2.2 and just would
export as text file on all the websites, then go to the new machine that
we were going to add to the farm and install metaedit 2.2 and import
that text file. Then use find and replace and change the names of
things where they needed to be changed.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
