there is some limit for the number of application pools that can host IIS 6.0?

Hello,

No, there is no hard-coded limit in IIS. You will however be limited by
the hardware (i.e. you cannot host unlimited application pools on a
server, there has to be sufficient memory/cpu/etc.).
