Hi NG,

i have a redirect domain (which points to my home - webserver). I've also
installed Xmail as email server. The sending of emails works very well. But
how do i have to configure it, to recieve emails?
I would like to send with email like me RemoveThis @domain.com instead of my dyndns
account. I`ve also an email redirection from my redirector. So i should be
able to mail to me RemoveThis @domain.com with getting my email to my RemoveThis @blabla.dyndns.org
account. But every mail i am sending from another account doesn't reach me.
Even if I try to mail directly to my dyndns account it doesn't work. I don't
know why... smtp and pop are opened on my router... NAT is activated...
XMail is running... So what could it be?

Please help me.

Yours sincerely,

Oklas

can you change your DNS servers for the domain ? You could open a free
account with <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.zoneedit.com" target="_blank">www.zoneedit.com</a>

Then define mail.yourdomain.com to be the correct IP and set up the MX
record to point to mail.yourdomain.com (or the blabla.dyndns.org entry).

what error messages do you get ? Does Xmail show any connection has
been attempted ? Is there any logging option in Xmail ?

Have you any way to connect to your IP from another location, eg with
telnet <your IP> 25

so you can see what happens ? If Xmail is working (sorry, not used it)
you should get a prompt and could then give it SMTP commands. Or try
to find one of the test services which checks if your server is an
open relay (if it says "no response" or timeout then your router or
Xmail are not set up right). Good luck - seems you need it.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
