Hi, I have IIS 5 on Win2K box. This machine has 2 internal IPs on a network
card, and 2 external IPs on another card.
In host file, I have
127.0.0.1 localhost
10.192.0.2 myserver
When I ping localhost, I get a good reponse, but when in IE, when typing
http://localhost/postinfo.html, I get Page not available check with your
administrator......

Thanks for your help

you may want to uncheck "auto configure" from you "TOOLS/INTERNET
PROPERTIES/CONNECTIONS tab / LAN SETTINGS" in IE

On a client or the server itself? (Hint, this will only work on the
server itself...)

Using host headers, or have IIS assigned to a single IP that *isn't*
127.0.0.1? Host headers have to have a "localhost" header and the
127.0.0.1 IP address has to be answered on, either specifically for a
site or using All Unassigned addresses.

On the server, so what do you mean by "has to be answered"
what should I do?
Thanks

Then "localhost" won't work since it ties to 127.0.0.1 which your site
isn't set to listen for. Try the IP address itself or the host name
that resolves to that IP address.

The alternative is to set the IP address for the site to "All
Unassigned"

Thanks, I, can not change my setting, there is a lot of things behind
especially CS2002 web sites and also for security reason I don't want to use
All IP adresses for security reason.
The problem is related to not being able to hit F5 in Visual .Net to run
debug. On of microsoft consultants through a seminair that Visual Studio
uses the Localhost to attach IE for debugging. Am I mistaken ?
Thanks again for your help
