Post subject: Licensing
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

Hello ,

I am putting a webserver (2003) online and the site will be querying a
backend SQL server for data . I would like to verify what I will need in
the way of product licensing. I will have the standard site visitors and
then folks that (via subsrciptions) will beable to extract more detialed
/complex data which will be servered up from the SQL database.
These "subscribers will be issued user accounts..............so with all
this said I dont know how to handle the licensing e for cals on bth the IIS
server and the SQL server.....my webserver wil be hosted by my ISP who is a
Miscrosftsoution provider. He eluded to some ort of "hosted licenses" ? and
I have also stumbled across an item called "Server connector"which I am
not sure if I have the need for . If nyone could shed light on this I would
appreciate it

oh yeah my SQL is operating under a "per processor" license I would think
that I have no further CAL type of licensing issue ......but I have been
wrong before ...

thanks
