KompoZer and javascript

I find myself having to learn how to do some web programming and I
found KompoZer -- which looked like a good tool to use in conjunction
with the various books I've gotten hold of. However, even though I
can put Javascript into the pages, when I click on the preview tab,
nothing seems to come up. Is there a plug in or something I need to
install to get it to render javascript?
