Howdy Jules,

There are no cool, quick, easy, or inexpensive ways to make any kind of
profit on the Internet unless you are very good at inventing con games and
willing to be prosecuted for them. You'll find many of them that will be
happy to take you for a ride at your expense.

First, you need at least $1,000 you can part with. Free hosting and a
cookie-cutter web site won't get you anywhere.

Second, you need the devotion and patience to spend at least a year
developing the on-line business. The rent for store space is cheaper on the
Internet but all of the other things for a profitable business apply.

Third, you need a unique product or service that isn't already saturated on
the Internet and will sell well. The biz.marketplace.international
newsgroup is one of the places to watch. There was a new padlock with a
built in burgler alarm today that might do well for someone experienced in
inporting products.

Fourth, hire a real web designer who has some profitable sites they can use
as references. It's the Wild Wild West (www) and you'll need a good Wagon
Master if you want to get anywhere.

Fifth, many hours of study time to catch up on what's required to run a
business. Part of that is qualifying for a Merchant Card Account.

AND lots of luck.
